Last week I was so lucky to attend the Nichole Van “Life as Art” Workshop. I cannot possibly say enough good things about this workshop or Nichole Van herself. I was simply amazed at the thought she put into every detail of the three days we spent in Salt Lake with her. She is incredibly knowledgeable and incredibly open and accessible. She and her husband Dave went above and beyond to share information and tools with the workshop attendees; and I walked away so much more knowledgeable about the art of photography, than before I attended. One of the many things that made the trip more than worthwhile was the model session and the ability to learn about strobe lights. It was simply amazing and I was giddy just being a part of what felt like a high fashion photo shoot. We actually had a rotation during the day where we learned about the lights and took pictures of some of the models. Then, later that evening, Nichole let a couple of us take the lights and the models back out for some more fun. Can you believe these were our results?!?!

Our models for the workshop were the most wonderful group of girls. We were so grateful for them and their willingness to brave the cold – believe it or not it was about 30 degrees out when we were taking these pictures!

We shot into the night and the girls were such troopers!! So gorgeous:

Beautiful sisters:

Here are all the girls. Thank you girls so much for your willingess to model for us. You all are simply gorgeous!!

I have even more pictures to come – these are just the ones from the bridge…
