We’re with Fox

It’s funny how one day you are you (in my case: Sandy). You are young, social, career-oriented, flitting away on the weekends to Napa, San Francisco, Tahoe, spontaneously. You do, who knows what,’til 10:00 every night (because who can remember what they did with all their time before they had kids) then you go to bed and off to work again the next day.   …Then you have your first child and suddenly you become “Haylie’s Mom, or Raider’s Mom, or James’s Mom.” And you’re sincerely happy with that! Your career goals really aren’t that important anymore and weekend trips are fun but nothing beats quality time with the loves of your life.

I have been good friends with April since high school but I couldn’t wait to see how she would be when her first little one came into the world. It was no surprise that April has turned out to be the most dedicated and adoring Mom. Her mother is doting and loving towards her and all her friends and it’s obvious April has inherited those great qualities. She is Fox’s Mom and so proud of it. Her and Matt love that little guy and are so proud of everything he does, lucky Fox! Course who wouldn’t be proud of this guy.  He is the sweetest little boy. He just turned one and he came to his photo session with smiles galore and lots of hugs for me:)Yay!

As I mentioned, April and Fox have the sweetest relationship and I love how this captures a quiet, intimate moment between mother and son:

Seriously – just look at that big smile. After a fairly difficult pregnancy, April was rewarded with the best little boy you could ask for!

“That’s right, they’re with me”:

ok – this next one should be a canvas in Fox’s room – so sweet! (And there’s even a fox on the front of the book!!)

Mommy and Daddy weren’t looking but he knew I was – sneaky Fox!!

Matt and April – thanks so much for a great session. April – you’re just such a good Mom, and such a good friend. I love your little guy – he is so sweet. Can’t wait for our girls weekend – see you soon!!!:)

horrah! my cousin and i have been checking your site to be the 1st to see these photos! thank you sandy! my faves are the one with fox and your truck, on the rock and the one of him holding our hands. i am sure i will have many favorites! thanks for being a great photographer, but more importantly, a fantastic friend! i am reminded of the old girl scouts song “make new friends, but keep the old. one is silver and the other gold.” you are golden, dear friend!

Yeaaaah :) And interestingly, my favorites are the same you picked, April. I also really like the one by the wooden fence. Sandy, you’ve done an outstanding job!!! Fox is such a pleasure to photograph as he’s always in a good mood.

I agree, I loved the ones with the truck, on the boulders and the ones where he is holding your hands too. I also liked the one with April & Fox in the wheat grass and the ones with his little blue cap. What a cutie! He is one happy baby.

These are absolutely fabulous, Sandy. You have captured the essence of Fox! I love the close-up of him in the blue shirt, and the one with the truck, and well, all of them. . .Fox is a little love, and the pix are awesome.
