Today my daughter, Haylie turns four years old. She has been anxiously counting down as she is so excited to get bigger and bigger and be like Mommy. Mommy of course would prefer she stay little so she will still cuddle, give big hugs and kisses, want to spend all her time with me and tell me she love me 100 times and day. Haylie has the biggest heart; she just loves to love – she is a Mommy in the making! Whenever I get really busy and stressed out, she comes out with the sweetest, loving responses. In the middle of it she’ll say , “Mommy?” and I wil sigh back, “What Haylie?” And then she melts my heart: “I Love You, Mommy!” It reminds me to stop and be grateful for everything I have and just love my children! The following story is a perfect example of that:
This week we had about 45 minutes to run down the street and grab some shots for her birthday before the sun went down. I was not optimistic as Haylie really loves to be silly in front of the camera, but we were surprisingly successful. At the end of our time after the last of the sun faded, we were walking back to our car holding hands and I was praising Haylie for doing such a great job. I told her I was so excited and rambling on about the shots I got and I thought we got some good pictures, when she said: “And the best part is, Mommy, we can be best friends forever.” My response: “You’re right Haylie, that really is the best part!!”

Before we went out we were looking at some pictures of other little girls and we saw one girl that was very serious in all her photos. Haylie said, “Mommy, why isn’t she smiling?” I said, “Because that’s how she wanted to take her pictures.” And she responded, “well I want to smile in my pictures because I am a good smiler!” She did smile in many of her pictures but every now and then I caught a good serious face and I love those too:

She is my sunshine and so much more:

Happy Birthday Haylie – I Love you!!
