After I graduated from high school I went on the hunt for a job, after all it was I time I started earning a little money and paying for some things on my own. I applied at numerous local restaurants but one day I received a call from a family about tutoring their daughter, Caroline. They had a mutual friend who’s daughters I had babysat for and they were interested in meeting with me to see if it would be a good fit. I got the job and I began a great friendship with three girls: Mary, Caroline and Elizabeth. Elizabeth, the youngest was just 6 months old when I first came to babysit. My primary focus was tutoring Caroline who is autistic and I absolutely loved my job and more importantly, these girls. They are like little sisters to me, especially Mary who I regularly get a chance to go shopping with or catch up for lunch when she’s back from college. It is so crazy to think about how long it’s been since I first met them. Mary and I used to make up dances and perform them for her parents - we were really good at the Macarena. Now today she has just graduated from college and headed off to Stanford for her next degree. Elizabeth is going into highschool and Caroline has grown and developed so much. I am so very proud of them and I feel so blessed to be able to stay in touch with them.
This weekend I had the pleasure of recreating some treasured photos as a surprise for their Mom. The girls and their Dad are so sweet and I am so excited that I get to be a part of this nice gesture. This was one of the most fun sessions I have had. I just loved getting the chance to spend time with them and laugh and hang out. I have learned so much from them all and will always be grateful that they hired me and invited me to be a part of their family!!
Here are my sweet girls - all grown up::

Caroline wasn’t really sure she wanted to give up her stuffed animal (Figaro the cat) and she was a little irritated at me when I asked to take him away. However I got some great smiles out of her after I put Figaro on my head and made him dance around a little!

And here are our photo recreations:
