Definitely one of the highlights of photography for me is getting the opportunity to meet new families. I love the opportunity to capture precious memories and freeze the moment in time. This week I got the opportunity to take some photos of my own family - well my sister’s family that is. My sister Nicole, affectionately referred to as Auntie Nicole, asked me to take some family photos of her husband’s family. Grandma Sue’s only request for Mother’s Day was some updated pictures of all of her family together and especially all the grandkids. We definitely had to brave the wind and the cold but we made it! So here they all are:

Sue and the kids:

If you happen to know these boys, this picture is very fitting:

Grandma Sue and her grandbabies:

I LOVE this one!! Just look at little Lea!

While we were there we took the opportunity to snap some quick pictures of Tyler, who is turning 1:

Auntie Nicole brought along a guitar for him:

He has an adorable laugh too:

Too bad my camera doesn’t have a video function. Although I’m not sure what I would do with it most days, today it would have been great. I wish I could share Eli’s interpretation of a choo choo train, to go along with this post…chug a chug a chug a chug a choo choo! I absolutely love how he made the sound!
I had a fun day hanging out at the tracks with 2 year old Eli and his Mom and Dad. Eli was a little concerned about the train tracks at first, for fear a train might come.

But once we convinced him there were no trains in sight, he was ready for some fun!!

He even brought along his guitar and sang me one of his favorites…happy birthday!

Jaime really wanted to get some new artistic type prints for their house so we got tons of cute shots of them all walking and playing together!

It’s always nice to get some updated photos of just Mom and Dad. I think this was my favorite shot of the day:

WOWWW Jaime!

I just love this family’s smiles. Well I just love this family in general. They are so sweet and have been so supportive of my photography ambitions. Shelley is a long-time friend (she was a bridesmaid in our wedding) and she is also mom to the semi-famous, adorable Baby Liam. It was fun to catch up with them again for Connor’s 2 year photographs and baby Liam is now 3 months.
So, back to those smiles… I always manage to get the best laughing pictures of this family and I’m pretty sure its because I’m so darn funny. It would be great to have sound effects to accompany my pictures because right about now in these photos I am doing my best barnyard impressions - complete with rooster sounds. (Those of you I have had a session with are probably going - “I remember that part”).
While Ken and Shelley are clearly tracking with me, Connor is slightly amused and Liam has decided to close his eyes and make it all go away!

OK just one more cracking up to prove how funny I am
Again Liam is avoiding me altogether! Don’t worry Shelley - I got some normal ones too. Those will be coming soon in your gallery! I just couldn’t pass these up - it shows what a sweet, fun family you have!

Shelley found these great trails and fields in the Roseville / Rocklin area. They were perfect so Connor could roam and I could catch some good photos of him.

I had to post this also - I flipped around and caught a quick shot of Shelley playing peek-a-boo in the tall grass to get Connor to smile. Too cute!

Connor liked all the trains, cars and trucks I brought along to encourage smiles.

Here is Baby Liam, so much bigger now!

Just gorgeous:

I’m pretty sure this is my favorite. I just love everything about it:

Ken and Shelley - thanks for hanging out with me again. Always great to see you!
I knew the photo session with this family was “meant to be” when Mom, Amber, and I showed up to our session wearing almost the exact same outfit. The only difference, according to 7-year-old Madeline was that Mom had mountains on her jeans (the little design on the back pockets). In addition, Amber is a photographer who often gets recruited to do her friends’ pictures and really needed some family pictures herself. Finally, Amber’s location request (a place where she loves to shoot at) is one of my most favorite places to take pictures. It looks different as the seasons change, and this time when I showed up it was filled with beautiful wildflowers - I was so excited! It was fun to finally meet this family after emailing off and on for the past couple months to figure out the best date. Matt is a fireman and Amber is a preschool teacher and their children are just beautiful. Don’t you think?
I love this picture of Madeline:

And this one:

This one too - she was just such a cutie! I have tons of smiling pictures of her so don’t worry Amber but these ones just really spoke to me.

Logan wasn’t sure he was going to smile for me but in the end I think I won him over!

Here is Mom and Dad:

Amber - you are just too funny and you look gorgeous! By the way - I like your outfit!

The girls and the boys!

And one more of Madeline because I couldn’t resist!
